Ambassador Djukic with positive forecasts for the Balkan countries - Sekulovski from ZNM urges not to hinder the work of journalists in the upcoming elections.
The former Ambassador of Serbia to Belarus and a diplomat with vast experience in diplomatic missions in Moscow, Prishtina and Sofia, Dr. Srecko Djukic is a guest in this Labyrinth. We analyzed the arrival of Chinese President Xi Jinping in Belgrade and Paris, but we also analyzed the current war hotspots in Ukraine and Gaza, as well as relations in the Balkans.
Diplomat Djukic expects an escalation on the front in Ukraine which will be an indicator of the direction the war will go and says that Russia receives more help from its allies than Ukraine receives from its friends in the West.
Regarding the dialogue between Belgrade and Prishtina, the diplomat believes that the future Special Envoy of the EU for this dialogue, who will most likely be the former President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, will in practice achieve what the previous Envoy Miroslav Lajčak did, which is the completion of the formal framework with the Brussels Agreement and the Ohrid Annex.
As for EU expansion, Djukic says that the Union has finally realized that the membership of the Balkan states, as well as Ukraine and Moldova, is their security strategic goal and expects this to be achieved in the next mandate.
A guest in this edition of Labyrinth is the director of ZNM, Dragan Sekulovski, with whom we discussed the safety of journalists, online attacks on them, and the rights of journalists to report from polling stations. Sekulovski reminded that these are the first elections in the country where journalists have the capacity of officials.

Serbian students' message reaches the Parliament in Strasbourg

The cyclists who rode across half of Europe to deliver a message to the European Parliament in Strasbourg have returned home. Another spectacular welcome was organized for them in Novi Sad, after those that took place in major European cities. In this Labyrinth, we include Veljko from the Technical Faculty in Novi Sad to tell us about the message that was delivered to the MEPs and to share with us their experiences from the long journey. The next great feat of the Serbian students will be a run to Brussels.

Syria freed from dictator, but terrorism is still a threat
Interview with war reporter Bud Wichers
After 13 years of civil war, the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria has fallen almost without a fight. The rebel HTS (Hayat Tahrir al-Sham) has taken power and is trying to make a peaceful transition. In the meantime, the US, Israel and Turkey are bombing places that are strongholds of ISIS, the Kurdish party or places that are suspected of having remnants of chemical weapons used by Assad. In this episode, we talk to war reporter Bud Wichers from the Netherlands who has been reporting from Syria since the very beginning of the uprising in 2011. Wichers has extensive experience reporting from the Middle East, and in Syria he reported from the biggest hot spots and was in contact with almost all the factions fighting in Syria. He says it is good that the regime has finally fallen, but he is still suspicious of possible terrorist hot spots, that is, he suspects that HTS has severed all ties with its previous “umbrella” Al Nusra Front, which was practically the Syrian branch of Al Qaeda.

Due to the days of silence, we decided not to publish any other content, so today we are publishing the reportage from the big protest that took place in Belgrade on March 15th.
We welcomed the three walking groups of students who arrived the day before and followed the entire protest to the end. We talked to several Serbian actors about the current situation, as well as some of the students, bikers and citizens. A sound cannon was also used at the protest, and one of the injured students told his experience in the Labyrinth. Watch the full episode.
